Bummer.

I was just watching MGM-When the Lion Roars on TCM, and he had several little interview segments in there, and some clips of his work in front of the camera (the good stuff).

He always brought class and gravity to even the cheesiest roles, and I've heard he was a real gent.

With my last breath... I spit at thee...
My favorite Montalban story was told on one of the Star Trek newsgroups about twenty years ago.

Seems one of the participants had previously worked on a movie lot, driving the little golf carts and shuttling around VIPs. One day, he was sent to pick up Ricardo Montalban. The actor got into the cart, gave him his destination, and said he was in a hurry.

"Ah," said the trekkie driver, "Time is a luxury you don't have!"

Montalban sat there for a moment, then said, "You know, I've played 'Othello' in London, and 'Don Juan in Hell' on Broadway... and still they remember me for that piece of $%^&@."

Oh, and don't forget to order your commorative Kirk "Khaaaannnn!" Action Figure.

He was a class act, unfortunately best remembered for the cheesathon that was Fantasy Island.
