Rep. Bill Schuster is retiring

Too bad he didn't quit before screwing the pooch on the DL medical.

He is working with Trump on the new infrastructure plan so this is far from over.

Agreed. Shuster was likely to retire anyway at the end of 2018 as he'd have to give up his T&I chairmanship after six years, and not seeking reelection essentially grants him carte blanche to act without even the pretense of consideration for voter interests.

I'd go so far as to say he's now more dangerous than ever when it comes to ATC privatization (and watch Sam Graves, once a friend of GA, further angle for Shuster's favor in being named his successor.)

If history is any indicator, he will probably end up on the board of the company that gets the ATC privatization contract.

He's not dangerous at all because 1) he doesn't have the votes and 2) he's now a lame duck with no clout.

Mr. "privatize ATC" himself is about to exit stage left.

The proposal was already basically dead but this will put the nail in.
I'm glad he's leaving, but unfortunately, others will replace him in pushing ATC privatization. Pres Trump is behind it IIRC. And Sam Graves "pivoted" on this too- he also supports privatization.

Kind of sad/disgusting how Graves went from being a great advocate to the next big enemy of GA.

What's the stance of Mike "Warming up in the Bullpen" Pence?
Good question. He's been keeping a "relatively" low profile. I've no idea about his stance. Like any politician, D or R, it probably depends on what his major donors want.

I thought I'd give the VP a nickname, as POTUS is so fond of them. :)

[Quasi Political]

Pence will do a better job taking over as POTUS than Schwarzenegger did taking over The Apprentice.
