Record Breaking Rail Gun Test: 5,640 mph

What voltage? Could it result in 1.21 gigawatts?

Inquiring minds want to know!

Well, a joule is 1 watt/s, and if all that 32 Megajoules were discharged in 1/100th of a second, that would be 3.2 Gigawatts.

1KWh is 3.6 megajoule.

3 million amps. Who's bringing the batteries? :D

Assuming they don't melt into slag when the go button is pushed, how many NiMh AA batteries is that and how long will it take to recharge them (4 at a time) after each shot?
What is the range before the bullet vaporizes?
