Random Acts Of Kindness

I have a tendency to do these kinds of things but I normally never say anything about it. Seems like that undoes the good karma if you call attention to it but maybe not.

Sharing in the human condition and offering compassion is a natural response that we all have.

Matthew 6:3 always seemed like good advice to me.

In case others were curious.

Matthew6:3 ---> But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth:

But sometimes it is best to lead by example. You never know what the stories here may inspire someone else to do, and that would then multiply the effect of the original act of kindness!

I'll brag about my wife. She works in a local elementary school that is sort of a magnet school for kids with various disabilities including physical, emotional, learning and genetic. Many are economically disavanatged and some don't have a great home situation where mom and dad (if hes around) deal with the kid by planting them in front of the T.V. with a bag of McDonalds.

one girl about 8 or 9 yrs old, who was poor, obese a slow learner etc. every day she came to school with these old torn ratty slipper like shoes, which she clearly outgrew, she was literally busting out of them.

One day I come home from work and on the kitchen counter is a Box with a pair of shoes that clearly would not fit my wife or daughter. She bought a pair of shoes for this girl. I was very proud of her.

I think drawing attention to good deeds done in the past in these kind of "circles" is exceptionally good karma for future RACs. The examples give those who read them ideas for more RACs also. Inspiring others is a force multiplier. ;)

Yeah, I had a similar idea, but kind of wanted to avoid using the word "force" in association with random acts of kindness!

I provided first aid for a couple drunk marines who rolled their car on I-5 about 10 years ago. the passenger was trapped in the vehicle and bleeding profusely from a cut on his arm. I took off my shirt and belt and made a dressing for the cut and waited until the ambulence and fire units got on scene to take care of them.

Nothing out of the ordinary here. I usualy give a lot of my stuff away... Clothes, jackets, hats, snow stuff etc... There's a bunch of stuff I did that I'm glad I did...

One I remember is when I came back from the lodge in a snowstorm. It was on a mountain road and visibility was down to 50ft at best... then I saw a car down in the ditch. An old man, probably 75/80 years old still sitting at the wheel shacking. The way the car was positionned, I could back up just behind him and probably pull him out but that would've put me in the oncoming lane with a very good chance of getting rammed over by the next car.

I still decided to back up, I ran outside, attached the car to the hitch of my truck and pulled him out in probably 30-40 seconds... When I asked him if he was OK to get back home he said yes. Then I grabbed my cable and started to walk away. The man never said anything not did he said thank you. But that didn't bothered me... I knew he probably wasn't the "type" of person who said thank you a lot in his life. But I definitely know he apreciated the gesture deep inside...

My local grocery store does a great thing during the holidays. They put up a big metal cage at the store exit where people put groceries and item to give away to famillies in need. When I saw that, I grabbed a couple additional cans and put them in...

This morning, I got a call from my hair hairdresser, her son plays guitar and he couldn't find any string at the local store and aked if I had any. The boy is still in college and of course, money is tight. I gave him two new sets and asked him to let me know what he thought about them ;)

I got a Boot out of the back of a Tijuana cop car and kept him and his 9 buddies out of the brig for being in TJ to begin with.:D
