I keep seeing people (non-aviators) with apps “ Lookit where that raincloud is gonna be in 6 hours”.
Need to learn more.

In the Weatherspork app (requires subscription) it gives access to a few of them. Here is the RAP HRRR forecast and it goes out 36 hours.

Your taxes already paid for HRRR.
My taxes paid for most of what's in the app, but it puts it in one place where I can click through half a dozen products in 30 seconds rather than find a million different cryptic government crap websites. Worth it for me. Maybe not for others.

I’ve tried a bunch and it seems like as soon as I figure out how to get what I want they update the app and I start over

It still looks the exact same as the day I started using it.

Sorry, I did not mean to suggest that the apps don't add value; they do. It would have been better had I said "you don't need an app to learn more about reflectivity forecasts", which is what I thought the OP was asking.
