I went to the Rhode Island Air Show at Quonset Point on Saturday. My kids and wife were visiting with her cousin, aunt and mom, so I had the day off. I just thought was going to be some poky open house with a c130 fly over or something. NOOOOO sireeeee! It was a really big deal, and a great time.

Blue Angels. Canadian Snowbirds. F16 Demo. F22 Demo. C130 demo. Air assault demo with Blackhawks, Huey, A10 and C130s. Sean D. Tucker. Michael Goulian. The Air National Guard guy (forget his name). P51 Formation aerobatic team. USAF Heritage flight (F22, F16, P51). Static displays included: B1B (got to sit in the pilot seat -too cool!!), F16, F/A18, CF18, C130, C5, V22, H60, museum pieces like A7, TBM Avenger, Magister. Well, I'm forgetting a few, but you get the point.

That f22 may be expensive, but words cannot describe its abilities. Breathtaking. Simply, breathtaking. The Blue Angels were slick; I stuck around (they flew at the end) to see their after-flight meet-and-greet. Very cool. Funny contrast: the Canadian Snowbird guys were professional, yet very affable and warm. The Blue Angels were all business, yes sir, no sir, thank you sir. Very professional and squared away.

I'll upload some of my photos....

Nice Photos! sounds like a great line-up of performances. I haven't been to an airshow in years,... time to get to Reading next year I guess.

All that and you didn't know what you were in for? It sounds like maybe you might've not gone to the show. If that aint a palm slap to the forehead I don't know what is.

Great pics and thanks for sharing. Glad you had a great time.

Oh, yeah, I was half thinking of not going. What a dope!!!!!!!!!

The shot in post #5 of the F-22 coming over the crowd...fantastic! Really great photos, all around, Andrew! I've seen the F-22 at two shows now (NAS Oceana and Langley AFB) and it never ceases to amaze; that is a really stunning airplane, even when it's not moving backwards. Where are the rest of the B-1 photos?? That's one of my all time favorites!
