I need to replace a PTT mounted in the yoke, I can only find two terminal and the one that I removed was three terminal. It measures about .60 in in dynamiter.

Most ptt switches are just momentary single pole switches, although I have seen other types used, but only wired for momentary SP. What I am saying is you only need a switch with 2 contacts that closes when you press it. Are there three wires connected to your switch or two wires ?

Careful it doesn't blow up on ya. :)

The PTT switch connects the tip of the mike plug to ground. Do you have an intercom in your airplane? The other pole might have something to do with hushing an intercom while you transmit.

The switch that I removed had three terminals, I have installed a 2 terminal PTT using just just two wires and get no side tone, but it works just not the same.

The old switch had 3
So if I understand correctly, you removed a PTT with 3 terminals with 3 wires and replaced with a PTT with 2 terminals but only used 2 wires? And now have no sidetone but the radio xmit works? Is this a Cessna aircraft? If I recall correctly, the Cessna factory PTT had 3 terminals. Maybe look for the Cessna P/N PTT and see if that will work. Cant download at the moment but will look for number when I can.

This from a Rangemaster and yokes are not original

The Cessna P/N is S1985-1 with vendor P/N 611-4302 by Mason. It has 3 terminals but dont know dimensions. Just don't buy from Textron. Would be an excellent candidate to get from a salvage yard. Try Faeth Salvage for more info.
