In that case I would say the prebuy went very well. Prospective buyer didn't even have to spend any money.

I have flown a few planes where the gear would not go up. I didn't argue and just left it down on the flight to get repaired, after visually inspecting that the gear really is locked down. Plus gear handle down and circuit breaker pulled.
