What happens when you get a bunch of POA'rs together with some food, beer, sodas, and planes?

A Good time,...

Tonight, a few of us gathered for some Hangar Talk at Wings field. Anthony drove all the way from Lexington Kentucky, just to hang out with us guys. (actually he is here on business for the next few days) Shane and Beth (OtisAir) stopped in for a bit, and brought some good sandwiches and wraps for us to snack on. Gary Shelby, Gary Mascelli, Lee, AdamZ and I were also there.

Bob Goggi took his daughter (kelly I think?) up for her first flight along with his instructor. I took this photo for them afterwards. He is about to solo, and although his instructor is ready, he wants a few more lessons. His son is also taking some lessons, but he is only 15, so they are spaced out since he has some time yet.

Tonight was busy, with MediVacs and planes comming and going like normal. Then there was a BIG fire in the nearby town. Channel 3 and NBC news choppers came in and landed on the ramp to refuel before heading back to the fire. Two big buildings have burnt completely, with more damaged. Last report was they are still fighting it (nearly 4 hrs later) and over 375 people have lost their residences.

So,.. after we all eat, have a few, we end up out in the tie down area. This one plane was nice,... we all put our fingerprints on it and messed around with it. Then we figured it was time to head home,...

Thanks Rob ........................ If i would have known about the gathering i would have come too,but somebody didn't post it that i saw.

Thanks to everyone who showed up and thanks to Adam for arranging. Yeah I had to drive ten hours since the Tiger is still in the shop getting its annual finished. Great weather too, would have been a nice flight! Great meeting some new people and seeing some people like Gary Shelby, and Gary Mascelli that I already know.

That's a nice 182 Turbo. Flew nice too. :)

Sitting with Adam as I type with dueling laptops!

Sounds like you guys had fun without us!

Can somebody list the names of the people in the last picture?

Sorry I missed last night, guys, I had some errands to do here, and this afternoon I'm flying a friend into KPHL to drop her off.

Sounds like a fun time, though! :yes:

Ted: you're going into PHL? Cool. Has it been claimed for the ContUS challenge? If not, you should get a photo while your are there. Much more flying like you are doing, and you'll grow wings yourself. Have fun, fly safe.
 
I haven't checked if it's been claimed for ConUS. Honestly, I keep on forgetting to check when I go places. Considering the number of airports that I fly to, I'm sure I've already stopped at a bunch of unclaimed ones. Normally I'm on a mission to get somewhere, so that's why I forget.

As to the wings, I have two arms, would that count me as a multi engine? I'll need to pass that check ride first... :D
 
Thank Ya'll - Beth and I had a great time and it was a pleasure meeting all the local POA's and the Kentuckian airplane driver too! We're looking forward to the next one. :)

Perhaps we can load up some airplanes next month and head down to Campbell Field (9VG) for an overnight Camp Out, BBQ, and Beer-Fest!?!
The owners welcome campers at all times.

Lets get a pulse and then perhaps plan it.

Again, it was great to finally get to meet ya'll.

Great to see everyone again! Anthony gets the medal for the longest trip. Campbell Field (9VG) may turn out to be a good idea.

Lee's right on that plus it was great to meet Shane and Beth. Yes Diana thats me in a Tie. Came directly from Court to the Airport (That tends to happen a lot , Gary will confirm)

I hope who ever owns the plane we took the photo in front of never finds out what we all did to it.;)

That may explain all of the turbo problems... too much hot air! :rofl:
