Authorities say two people were killed after a plane they were aboard crashed near South Lake Tahoe in California early Wednesday morning.

SIngle-engine Luscombe 8A had left Lodi airport. Very little information thus far... Very high terrain between Lodi and the crash site.

High DA with two people on board, and a Luscombe 8a - not a good scenario.

Luther Pass elevation is over 7000 feet. With the high temps and winds in this area it seems insane that someone would try and fly this plane with 2 on board into these conditions.

It makes no sense at all. The NTSB report should be interesting.
