My brother-in-law (also named Troy) is a volunteer firefighter in Eastern Washington (Cle Elum area). He just said:

A plane (Piper to be exact) Buzzing traffic on I-90. Should be interesting. 45 to 50 feet off of ground.

Nothing on the scanner now; Troy tells me:

Have not heard anymore about it for awhile; yes it was on KITCOM and STATE (radios). He was last seen flying east towards Ellensburg.

Maybe he was flying IFR and was looking for a road sign....

For those of us who grew up on the east side of the state (darned near in Idaho), Cle Elum is considered Central Washington. :D Only somebody from this side of the state who didn't know any better (most of them) would think that was Eastern Washington. But, what the heck, they call the places on the east side of Lake Washington "the east side". About as bad as my math teacher at Newton HS (Newtonville, MA) in 1969 having been "out west to Ohio". :D:D:D

Ohio isn't west of Newton?

I thought eastern Washington started near Woodenville?:D

I hear you. Was born in Ellensburg, grew up in Everett, then Tacoma/Federal Way. To us, "Eastern Washington" was anytime we went over the pass (Stevens or Snoqualmie) to visit relatives in Leavenworth, Wenatchee, Brewster, Bridgeport, or Lake Chelan.

But I can see it from your point of view, too!

And to the Mr. Migaldi; it's actually Woodinville. The witches have moved on. Lived and worked there, too.

A friend and I were having a discussion about the Long Distance Awards that are to be handed out at the Moto Guzzi National Rally in John Day next month. Since there are riders coming in from all over the country (and Europe and Australia, Canukistan, etc) we decided that we would have our own long distance award.

he and I are in the running for the LD award for a rider coming from:

North Central West Eastern Washington, Originating from a County That Highway 2 Runs Through and Has At Least One Lake
(I'm from Cashmere and he's coming from Moses Lake.)

So, actually, Cle Elum would be considered south central west eastern Washington.

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

When I go East, that's Mt. Vernon.... or IOW the mainland.
