I'll bet it can go 10,000 hours and never require an overhaul.
 
The guy I did my IFR rating with had an Apache he used for twin instruction. I think he ran both 320s well past TBO. I think it was around 3000+ when he finally pulled them. Those 320s are tanks.

We had an old Cherkee 235 that had some 2500 hrson the engine before we sold it. Some normally asperated engines seem to run for ever. I gave up betting on the engine in our Malibu at 2600 hrs since reman. Compression was good, climb was strong, oil consumption 1 qt in 6 hrs, and only one cylinder removed in its life. But it was just to much of a risk to have it fail.
