Pinnacle/Colgan Bankruptcy Car Wash

I predict this attempt by Colgan will stall and crash.

I just got off the phone with Sid. Sounds bleak.

It's definitely not good. All Saabs gone by August (?), all Qs gone by November. 14 RJs getting parked starting in Jan. 74 planes off property by next spring. Early estimates are at least 600-800 pilots on the street (furlough), and at least as many FAs being outright fired. Who knows how many downgrades, and what pay/work rulecuts the folks that remain will be faced with. All while the CEO and COO took a 68% and 49% pay RAISE, respectively, just a couple weeks ago. I'm guessing the numbers don't look good for Sid to keep his seat? Hopefully he can at least go back to ops.

Delta is an odd bird to be hanging your future on (especially when Delta still owns COMAIR), but Delta did loan Pinnacle some interim funds. Perhaps Delta is thinking about shedding COMAIR over to Pinnacle.

If I had to hang my future on one particular carrier today....it would be DAL....they are kind of like the Borg. You will be assimilated.

Just a matter of time before all airline pilots are wearing double-breasted jackets and asking for wind checks.

Hes hoping for the best (they get bought) and perparing for the worst. All he can really do is sit tight and see how things shake out. He mentioned flying a desk at JB. As for the CEOand COO, they knew what was coming.

I hear B6 might have a pilot opening.....

A guy I worked with left for B6 a few months ago. They require turbojet time. Thats even with the reduced minimums of their mentor program. Our friend has turboprop time.
