Four of us made the 1300 mile round trip to Blakesburg for the Antique Aircraft Association fly-in. We went in our Cessna 140s. We had an awesome time and I took over 2800 photos (not to far out of the norm for me!). There were some very cool planes there and I'm looking forward to going back next year.

I'll put some of my favorites on this page. CLICK HERE if you want to see the full set.

Nice set!

Are you on POTN? I thought I saw NC11497 posted there as well.

This beauty once belonged to Steve McQueen!

Thank you.

No, wasn't me! There were quite a few photographers there though, more than most fly-ins I go to!

A great bunch of photos, love the red on red F2 with the Curtiss Reed prop, really gets my juices flowing. The STA sunset photo is great too, thanks.

Great photos. I flew my Champ in Friday for a day. It's a very enjoyable show.
Do you have any pictures of the plane that was parked by the D-18? That was pretty nicely done. What was it, a Sterling? Simpson? Can't remember.

Man, I miss going to Blakesburg...

Your pix felt like being there! Thanks for posting!

I soooo want to go!!!'

That work thing keeps getting in the way.....

Sweet pics... For us less fortunate.

Really great photos. Reminds me of the fun I have had flying taildraggers. Can you imagine any of these being tied down outside?! It's a shame they painted that nice Staggerwing that terrible color. Thank you!

You should go next year. It may be the only place your RV is invisible though! My friend flew his beautiful RV-7 in and for the first time ever, he got very little interest! I was one of the new planes there... in my 1946 Cessna 140!

I'll look through my photos. I got some pics of Champs, but I'm still editing... took 2800+!

You're talking about the Fairchild I believe. The one next to the firetruck? A 1929 Fairchild 71! You might not have recognized it in my earlier photo. I didn't know the wing folded until I was walking by one day! It was really nice plane and the panel was beautiful too. I've got some pics of it flying. I'll add them soon.

Beautiful photos! I came very close to buying that Cabin Waco (green fuselage with cream wings) a few years ago, but couldn't quite swing it financially at the time.

Wow - These are beautiful planes AND great pictures. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks to you all! I enjoy taking them, it's nice to get good feedback!

Troy - I used to enter the POTW a lot and even won a time or two, but lately they don't update it. I think they get busy with Oshkosh and Sun-N-Fun and forget it.
