Peter Steele Dead

Who?

There's only so much room in this brain for entertainment trivia -- which is why Jeopardy was never really an option for me.

Really Effeminate Musicals for $500, Alex...

You're missing some really "good" ummm... "music:"

Was a huge band when I was in high school for the boys that wore black makeup and fishnets.

Best lyrics ever:

"She's got a date at midnight with Nosfaratu"

Oh...and:

"You wanna go out 'cause its rainin' and blowing, you can't go out 'cause your roots are showing....dye 'em black"

Hilarious, because the goths took it as an anthem, when in reality, it appears he's making fun of them.

I have never even hear of this guy or his bands before. I guess that I am on my way to being an old man now.

You're letting your age show. Just because I like or dislike something doesn't make it good or bad. Except possibly Johhy Sokko and his Giant Flying Robot reruns.

Maybe, but age also means wiser and more discriminating.

The Sex Pistols were all the rage in my late teendom. My opinion then was "I don't really like them." Now, I'm more direct -- that nonsense was useless noise fueld on drug-addled hype.

The Sex Pistols? OMG, you are old.

:D

The Sex Pistols? They were awesome! It was wonderfully angry nihilistic noise, and I'm surprised the young people today aren't making more of it given the mess with which we're going to leave them.

I'm going to have to disagree there.

I still like the Sex Pistols.

I've never heard of Peter Steele, so his passing is meaningless for me.

So what does that make me? I remember when the Beatles first came to the US. :yikes:

So do I. On the Ed Sullivan Show. 1964, wasn't it?

Old! We're not old. These other dudes are still wet behind the ears and shouldn't be flying solo:smile:

I was never a Type O fan and thought Peter Steele sounded more like a porn star. But my singer was telling me how he hung out with him on several occasions. Really nice guy. I had 2 friends in their early 40's die of heart attacks last year who lived healthy lifestyles. I happens.
