I missed posting this one back in February when she first soloed, so better late than never! She's powered through some major bureaucratic obstacles and is getting close to checkride time. She's got a great feel for the airplane and flies it really well!

Congrats on the solo, glad to see you doing it. That cherokee looks naked without its spats, though.

What bureaucratic obstacles? I don't recall anything terribly onerous.
 
Nice! Wish I had chosen a decent CFI from the start who would have done such a nice thing as you did for your student. Well done and congrats to your student who soloed. We need more decent friendly CFI out there! Many suck bad.

Well, thanks....I think there are a lot of great instructors out there. I just happen to be one that enjoys photography and Photoshop!

She had to jump through a whole bunch of hoops for her medical, unnecessarily.

Congratulations on successfully teaching another human being to fly, Loren! Based on looking at "the wall," you have done a lot for our fellow travelers here :)! The CFI who finally taught me to fly was also teaching others for the joy of it. He already had a career. I had a few other CFI's before him, and I am glad and really appreciate people like you who are teaching because they enjoy it and enjoy seeing others learn to fly.

As far as the ridiculous medical problems, I understand perfectly, and that is why I am very much an advocate of the current effort to reform the Class III.

I hope to continue instructing until I can no longer drag my carcass into the plane. It's one of the most rewarding things I've ever done.
