Pelton Out at Cessna

AVWeb's article said similarly little. I wonder what happened.
I'd like to think that he wouldn't have been forced out, especially after so many profitable years, but maybe there were personality conflicts between him and his Textron overlords that we'll never know about.

one comment i saw on the wichita eagle article was someone who thought textron was pushing for more layoffs or delayed hiring and jack didn't agree with that. who knows. he'll probably have more time to fly his PT and 195 now.

One more reason that I declined to work for public companies. The last quarter is the only thing that matters.

Here, let me fix that for you.

"The next quarter is the only thing that matters."

Wrong. You don't get fired for next quarter's results. Ask Pelton.

Whoa -- WHAT?? Pelton???

Man, there must be more to that story!

Amen

(I probably just jinxed myself and will end up at publicly traded company now):mad2:

The quarterly release wasn't pretty considering that even total dog companies made paper profits in this... cough... non-inflationary environment... cough...

The real interesting story is to come... Donnelly will ride in, get out his hatchet and lop off heads... The next quarter will look good because of the huge drop in salaries... Of course customer service will get slow, guys who know the older products will see the writing in blood on the walls and bail out taking their knowledge with them, and customer satisfaction will take a dump...

The quarter after that when the buyers of their premium business jets decide Cessna looks a bit too shaky and start cancelling orders to buy a Piper instead- hoo baby - I wonder if the Chairman of the Board of Textron operates on the same philosophy as Donnelly... One bad quarter and you are gone?
