So I had my check ride today for my ppl. Spent 2 hours doing the oral. Passed that and said let's go fly. I check the weather and I was stuck between a cloud and a hard place(ground) so the ride will continue tomorrow at 3

I know your anxious, but if it ain't solid VFR , better to wait.

Congrats, the flying part is the fun part of the test.

yeah, i debated for a few minutes but there wansnt much room for error so i said no. i probably would have been ok but i figured it was better to wait. I didn't wasn't to risk busting it for poor decisions

Similar happened to me... More than once. Drove to the DPE's office and took the oral, however the weather kept us grounded, made about 3 appts to do the flight and wx was bad everytime, finally got it done with better wx. You will get it done, just wait for a good day!

Nothing wrong with that decision.

YOu passed the hard part, and you should good decision making skills.

Happened to me, too.

Great thing about doing it this way: you've already gotten familiar with the DPE. That will help calm your nerves a bit tomorrow, and your brain won't hurt quite as much when you finish. You can concentrate on the fun part, showing off how good you can fly.

Part of the job of the DPE is to see how well you make decisions - and you already showed him you have enough confidence and brains to postpone the checkride.

Same thing happened to me yesterday on a commercial checkride. Unfortunately, yesterday was also the day my written expired. So I got to retake the written this morning and get a new sign off. Now, off to start a new IACRA record...

Busted! In my defense, I was ready a bit sooner but our prop decided it had other plans. Funny thing is two years apart and I ended up with the exact same score.

Finished my check ride yesterday. I am officially a pilot

Congrats man! Great news!

Congratulations! Huge accomplishment.
How was the flying portion?

Congratulations and welcome to the club!

Pretty easy. Started out in my xc from dpa to lse, got to my first check point started timing, made it to my second check point in time and on course so we diverted, did maneuvers, went to an untowered field did my short/soft t/o and landing go around then went home doing hood work. tracking a vor, usual attitudes, straight and level. Then landed and was told I'll be a good pilot.
