Skymac
Pre-takeoff checklist
Pretty simple question, but I’ve read a bunch of different information online, including documents from the FAA.
I didn’t really think about it but prior to my outpatient surgery coming up, my doctor prescribed oxycodone as well as 800 mg ibuprofen with that I’m not worried about.
I maintain a first class medical and will be off of work for a week and a half not flying. The surgery itself has nothing to do with holding a medical. However, after thinking about it, I think my best bet is to not pick up the prescription of OXY, ond just tough it out.
Am I correct in this thinking or is it OK to get the extra pain medication and just use it for a day or two after the surgery if I really need it and then stop taking it before I return to work about 10 days after.
In a year when I fill out my new MedExpress for another Medical, I’m not looking for issues because I put down that I took that medication 11 months ago for two days.
