I've been google-ing but haven't come up with anything yet.. Does any company make any kind of shorts or underwear that have extra padding or cushion to make sitting or driving for long periods of time more comfortable? Everything I keep coming up with is either a padded crotch area for bicyclists or football pads.

The plane I'm renting has the most uncomfortable seats in it, after an hour my butt is numb! I think I'm going to bring a folded up beach towel to try tomorrow but my head is already getting close to the roof :dunno:

Do they still make padded biking pants? More realistic fix might be a little square of the high density foam backpackers use to sleep on. It's only about a half-inch, maybe three-quarters, thick.

That's a good idea, I know my wife has a yoga mat made of that stuff. I wonder if she'd notice if it got a foot shorter :D

Check Costco (if nearby) or any of th big box stores or auto supply stores. There a gel seat cushion, costs about $15. which should solve your problem. Lots pf the long haul truckers use them.

Go to Gander Mountain or Fleet Farm and pick up a foam hunter seat. That should do the trick and be cheap, too.

Yes, they still make padded cycling shorts in all degrees of padding.

But softer/more padded is not always better.

I think this has come up before, but a beaded seat cover can make a big difference. Allow air to circulate and lots of little pressure points seem more comfortable than fewer.

About $8 at WalMart, so cheap enough to try.

The thread title makes me think someone is having a male adequacy issues.

After reading the post, it sounds like a variety of fast food restaurants would be happy to help you!

Its a light sport plane, if I eat too much fast food I wouldn't be able to fly with full tanks!

I forgot about car seat cushions or hunting seat cushions, that may be the best idea yet. The beaded ones from what I remember were a little more involved to put on back in the day, I'd try it if it were my plane and I could leave it in there but just for something portable to toss in a rental the cushion may be easier.

Just get a pack of Depends, and you can solve two problems at once.

I remember watching a mythbusters episode where they used depends for sitting in a chair for an extended period.. apparently they're for stopping "leakage" and can't take the full load. :D

I think it's Oregon Aero that make nice cushions from memory foam.

I can only imagine what it would look like when a guy climbs out of his sport aircraft and waddles in to the FBO wearing butt pads.

Ever consider using a medical donut?

prolly cheaper than fancy-dancy underwear and made for sitting by people that completed pelvic surgery or new moms, etc.. Similar to horsecollars but for the butt and not separated in the front. could prolly use the horsecollar to sit on as well.

Any dollar store or housewares store should have padded seat bottoms designed for placing on wooden kitchen chairs.
