Flying for 20 years. Renting the whole time. Some years of really light flying. But finally pulled the trigger. Son loves planes and flying together so this is our time machine. Kids grow up quick.

Nice looking Cheetah. What's in the panel?

Panel is old school IFR. King, narco, century 1, 496, plus a stratus esg. Already trying to get appointments for modest upgrade. Under the hood is 150 hour HC STC, ported/polished, powerflow, new baffles and sensinich out front.

Great looking plane! Always liked Palomar airport, what is it like these days, very busy?

Very nice!
Appreciate your posting the pics.
Love the fighter style canopy on those Grummans.

Depends on your reference point, but beautiful and super busy. I liked it more 20 years ago. I'm at RNM now so I can have a hangar.

Thanks. No clue. No log entry, which I thought was weird but I guess not maintenance?

Nice looking Cheetah! With the hot weather coming on, try flying with the canopy open. A whole new experience

Congrats! I’m based at CRQ. Briefly considered other locations, but I chose to have the plane 5 minutes away tied down over driving an hour to the hangar at F70 or RNM.

Had been debating between Grumman and baby beech for a long time.

Pretty much what I've narrowed it down to as well, but I've been leaning way more towards the Grummans. Great buy for sure.

It was a tough call. I live 15 miles from CRQ, that can be an hour+ sometimes (2020 being the exception). RNM has a great atmosphere to hang out. And zero congestion. Likely would be at a CRQ tie down if I lived in Carlsbad. 5 minutes is tough to beat.

First flight together today. Already debate over who gets left seat. Loving the time machine.

That is quite nice!

Congratulations! A few of us had a pretty airplane for our first one!
