I thought there was a thread that called for pictures of the airplanes that each of us owned or flew regularly. Was that on this board, or the "rival" board? If not here, how about we start up one now. Since I am very happy about my new "acquistion", I'll start it with a few recent photos. Nothing real nice yet, though.

IIRC the thread was called "Show Off" and was on the red board.

Well most of you have seen it, but here is my favorite picture of N373Y. Cant wait to pull it out of the trailer for the spring XC season

hmm well here is a panel shot. its pretty fancy. compass is to the right of the variometer (think vertical speed).

This season I gotta find space for a clock and a Palm Pilot. Think I might move the altimeter to the top empty space and put the Palm on the left side.

I had a lot of fun explaining to my son's scout troop that a piece of yarn could acually be a valuable tool;) I mean, isn't there an expensive electronic thing that could do it better???:)

yea that yarn is pretty thick. Matt had about 8 inch long pieces of thread on his Lark and that worked pretty good. Stayed pretty snug with the canopy too. No wonder I never make it as far as I would like! :)

Y'all have already seen my panel, but here's the exterior. As I said, it's a work in progress...

That damn string messed me up so much it was terrible. I did fine until I looked at it, from there on out ..I flew..like a Piper pilot :D

You don't step on it..like with the ball.. Other way around.

Most definitely!!! Wouldn't fly without one!

Had a couple-o-few hours in a Schweitzer 2-32 back in the 60's
in a great little town in Germany..... Giessen.

I'm going to do it once or twice again, after I pass my PPL checkride in the Cessna. One thing at a time...

Nice idea. Who doesn't like looking at planes (well, among us pilots). I like that Twinkie!!! I'm away from home or I'd post a better pic of my Sundowner. Enjoy the New Year, all.

Harley you can keep the plane (wings in wrong place for me) but i want the Healey 3000
Dave G

 It's been in the family since 1968 when my Dad bought the '66 BJ-8 MK-III for $2195.00. He had it repainted, red(same as his 1960 A-H 3000). I inherited it in 1998. The paint having become crazed over the years, I had it totally stripped, installed new body rubber parts throughout, new top, new carpets, new trunk liner, ball joints, exhaust system; and in the process learned that its original color was Healey Metallic Blue. Always garaged, but is in the process of securing a replacement engine(or block, etc.) to remedy the #5 connecting rod she excreted in 2002. I'm told -- accredited appraisal -- that when again on the road she'll exceed the market value of my airplane. In 2001 she looked like(photo), beside the plane I did not buy.

Here's the Mooney the day I started the trip home after buying the plane. Hard to believe, David & Matthew were not in school yet at the time...they're in 5th & 4th grade now.

Here's our magic carpet. The prior owner lovingly doted on it for 33 years; we've had it about a tenth of that now. The paint is fifteen years old; just last year we had the interior redone, in the original '59 style but with modern materials.

Here's a few pics of the RV-7A that my dad and I built.

#1: Rachel and I at Petit Jean, AR (KMPJ) camping in May. It's not a tip-up canopy, but we installed an ad-on to make the slider able to tip-up from the rear to make access to the baggage area easier.

#2,3: Taking Rachel's friend from Germany up for a first flight.

And a fine flying aircraft it is!!

Did you get it home?

we'll see you next spring.. june maybe.

I did, it's on my tiedown spot at PAFA while I'm in Tennessee for the holidays. If you people think the flight up the upper Alcan is beautiful in the summer...try it in the winter! Gorgeous  Don't have any recent pictures other than from October on goflyamerica.org

The ones I fly, thanks to their owners.

Hey Tim! Row 3 space A, directly across (and closest spot to) Wright Air Service, unless Tamarack has it in to fix some squawks.

Here's my current ride and my first.

Here's my Maule in her snug, cozy cabin. Like most Maules, she looks best when viewed from beyond a certain distance and from a few, well selected angles, but the view from inside is always a treat and she flies like a dream.

This is not strictly my airplane, but I do fly it, and enjoy every minute of it!
