I’m here, in the polished 170 next to the North 40 showers. Also wearing a yellow EAA Photo 18 vest. Stop me if you see me!

Wow what's that cost at the last minute?
I had to follow up with pics.
Glad I didn’t bring a black-light. Those ain’t cigar burns in the carpet.
Listened to the FISK arrival frequency this morning, I had no idea there were so many Bo's out there that cant maintain 90 knots
536!What row? I’m 537.

Is Scholler letting the refugees come back from the parking lots yet?
536!
Scholler has devolved to a state of anarchy. My 15 year old called me freaking out this morning because some jag off moved our stuff out of our site and set up his camp while we were away. Our neighbors called security.
Sure enough, I show up to see what’s going on and the guy told me with a straight face that I didn’t have my camping credentials properly displayed and he was staking claim to the site. (As he stood over my boundary rope - Credentials were in my truck because they were destroyed in the weekend rains). It was all I could do not to punch his lights out, but then I probably would have wound up in jail which would have really not been a cool way to celebrate osh19.
Thankfully we had already decided to move and join friends camping on the outskirts of the N40. Otherwise things could have gotten really ugly.
If any of you happen to know a guy from Ohio named Bob who camps in a crappy 80s vintage Coleman pop up and wears a non-military flight suit around, please give him my profanity laced regards.
I "practiced" 90 knots the other day, it's just fine with a notch of flaps.

IMO, we should band together and remove all of his stuff from Oshkosh entirely. No place for that kind of crap here.
I’ve shot dozens of practice approaches at 90 knots with no flaps in both a 35 and 36 Bonanza. No problem.I’ve never been in a Bo but I would have thought 90 could be done easily, even with no flaps.
I saw that.... The Cessna waited for the hard turn off, instead of turning into the grass. I cannot imagine how many dollars that cost."Doc" (B-29) had to go around ...
At the Crappy8 across the parking lot. From the look of the outside, you have my condolences.Ended up getting a reservation at Motel 6 in Appleton (around 2p), since Scholler is closed. Set up our table and chairs in the parking lot and grilled ribeyes & Indiana sweet corn.
I was on my way up to ATW for a quick flight with the Phillips 66 Aerostars! It was really cool to see all the action underneath me as I flew over at 4000 ft.Just heard @Radar Contact call inbound for KATW. Listening to scanner while waiting for the late risers in my group.
Numerous tents set up on the hill, outside the fence by the FBO At ATWShould be taxiing into our parking space in VAC now, but instead we just landed in KLOT (South Chicago). 4 barons were here and one pilot called the EAA to ask if twin arrivals would be opened. The answer was a firm “no” for parking in the grass today.
We’ll kick around Chicago tonight and keep our fingers crossed it opens tomorrow. If not, may just drop into Fon du lac or Appleton and just camp there instead.

...or would fly them if he wasn't on an 80's Coleman popup kind of budget.Sounds like he is the kind of guy that flies formation sorties in an SR-22
ATC: "UPS 747 heavy, rock your wings ... just kidding, cleared to land 36 Left."
ATC: "UPS 747 nice landing."
747: " ... No 'Welcome to Oshkosh'??"
Was watching one of the webcams and as soon as the 747 comes into view, the camera pans away from the runway

Why in the world wouldn't you just fly 135 knots at 2300?
I'm on the ground and "confined to quarters" for a while after surgery last week (successful, thank you). I'm grateful for the EAA webcams this week!

(Minor gripe -- I do wish they'd have dedicated cameras fixed on the runways. The Vintage cam started panning west over the grounds just before the 747 arrived and missed its landing.)
Doesn’t the NOTAM say to do 1800 feet and 90 knots unless you can’t do so? I read that as do the low route unless it’s not safe for you to do the high route. Why in the world wouldn't you just fly 135 knots at 2300?

So if the aircraft can operate at 90 knots without being dangerous, you should. No reason a Bonanza or other similar retracts can’t do that. Put the gear down or the flaps down or both. I’m just fine in my 182RG at 90. Doesn’t handle like 140, but it’s still way above MCA.From the NOTAM:
Arrive at Ripon at 90 knots and 1,800’. For aircraft unable to operate comfortably at 90 knots:
- Slower aircraft should use maximum cruising speed.
- Faster aircraft use 135 knots and 2,300’.
Not horrible. My Verizon hotspot isn’t fast in the North 40, but still works. ATT phone is spotty on the grounds, but fine at the campsite. How's cell service on the grounds? I remember at SnF earlier this year that there was zero cell service.

The 2300 and the 1800 crowds still have to come together, so you have to slow down at some point.
