View attachment 55216This is how I roll into Oshkosh!
Pretty cool that I have a generous boss who says "Take the jet and bring a few of your coworkers up to Oshkosh for the day"
Doesn't count if you don't park on the grass.
Ya. I'm the guy in a blue shirt and EAA hat.
Anybody meeting up today?
Had fun watching the Blue Angels with ya! Safe travels home
1) LuckHow the F does one get a ride in a P51?
Hey...I think I saw you.Had fun watching the Blue Angels with ya! Safe travels home
Great to see you today, Dave! Thanks for stopping by and visiting.
I'm presenting as part of an ADS-B panel at 11 am Tuesday at the AOPA Program Pavilion.!
Why do you (or BKing) think that is true?Panel was pretty nice to listen to, the guy wanting to have his a&p install is going to be in for a ride---we talked with Jay at Bendix-King and had a nice discussion about why that would not make sense since a 145 shop is still going to be in the mix.
Why do you (or BKing) think that is true?
Buzz Aldrin popped into a dinner I was at last night... weird, but cool surprise.
Another mind boggling experience; happened to overhear and witness a $2,000,000+ aircraft sale take place. Guys acted as if it was a $20,000 car purchase. No big deal to them.
Come stay in the dorms away from it all ;-)I clearly need to get Tapatalk installed on my phone. I missed all the PoA meetups!
I will dearly miss everything about Oshkosh for another 51 weeks. Except for the generators (and inconsiderate owners that leave them running after 10:30, or the ones that bring crappy, giant, loud, smoke-belching contractor-grade generators). I don't miss those one damned bit.
I don't recall seeing anything about gen-free camping, save for the electric/water sites. But, I tent, so, paying $67 a night instead of $27 seems pretty silly.I was told there are gen-free zones and gen-friendly camping. So, presumably one can book into a gen-free zone?
there were a few of those light weight Honda types....but, they're quiet.
<snip>
All of that said... I know that the EAA folks and their volunteers bust their freaking butts to put on this show. They are working with very limited resources, and have a million irons in the fire at the same time (becoming involved with trams this year exposed me to that reality). So, I really, really appreciate all the work that they do, and that no matter what, they will not please everybody, and that *any* changes they make in an attempt to improve things for the greater good (like putting 24 hour gen near Rt. 41) or make things more efficient (modifying tram routes) will always get someone's knickers in a bunch.
VTEC kicked in, yo!
