Spent the day at the show today, seemed to be better organized with a larger attendance, also food choices seemed to be a little better than in past. Liked the vintage tie down area looked like a lot of for sale signs on the aircraft.

I spent the day there today as well, and never having been, I have nothing to compare it to. My feet are so sore I can hardly walk, I have sunburn despite using a hat and sunscreen, and my wallets is empty. But it was just freaking awesome!

Food is 10x better than last year. Still not great, but palatable atleast. Stay away from the pancakes at A&W. Lightspeed has a new headset, Redbird has a plane with a funny engine, and jets are expensive. Also the Military isn't flying at all.

My Oshkosh rundown

I don't come here for any of that though, I come here for the people.

It is a large crowd, up from last year. Cool weather means everyone is in a good mood.

Dyna Vibe has a new prop balancer out. Simply amazing. Use to take 4-5 runs to get a solution, now it is down to 2 with more accuracy.

E-mag is going into production for their 6 cylinder ignition system. Electronic ignition mag replacement.

Camping for the first time in a rented trailer. Will be the last, will go back to renting a local house.

Anyone who comes to OSH to watch a movie should be banned from aviation. This is about experimental aviation not Hollywood make believe. ;)

I was coming up and camping solely to see Planes :(

No, actually you can thank all the folks at that bigger building to the north of the White House. Congress controls the spending and the budgets and the actions are due to laws they passed thinking that no one would be foolish enough to make it real...

The main cheese at the whitehouse can give an executive order to cure any issue...

My thoughts as well. I spent the day there and enjoyed it. I don't worry about politics or any of that crap, I walked around and enjoyed myself.

Picked up a mahogany gulfstream jet for 35 bucks.

Jeppesen introduced their FliteDeck app for VFR. I may give it a try.

Grabbed some other catalogs, brochures, etc... all the free stuff I could gobble up. Really enjoyed the vitntage and homebuilt stuff. The sea of RVs is really neat.

That Stintson Reliant in Shell livery was absolutely amazing, inside and out.

I really wish I could go another day, but work is in the way.

Next year, I think I might spend 2-3 days there and camp.

I was there today. Had a great time but not as exciting without the military aircraft. This was my 30th year in a row of attending. Amazing to see how it has grown! EAA handles it really well considering how many attend during the week.

I'm not there, but so far, this has been the best part:

The gotoMeeting stuff worked on my phone right away, and I got to hear the presentations today. Some of the video didn't work, but I was mostly listening anyway.

I think it counts for WINGS credit, if that matters. I just thought some of the topics/speakers were great today. You got to see their slides as they were explaining stuff, and although you couldn't see who was raising their hands, or where the speaker was pointing, it was the very next best thing to being there.

very cool...

Got back from Oshkosh last night. Got in Sunday and scouted the grounds. Bought some stuff yesterday, and absolutely loved it. Not a camper but any recommendations where to stay? Stayed 1/2 hour away this year. Gonna go next year with my son.

I did a day trip today with a former student. Last year we flew a Cessna 150 to OSH for his third flight lesson. I flew the arrival and did the approach and landing then. This year we flew in his recently purchased RV-9 and he did all the flying including a perfect arrival, approach and landing on the designated dot! And with 195 hours in his logbook!

Nice job, Jim. You make me proud!

I think if you book now, you might find something a little closer. Otherwise, the home rentals are popular for some.

I missed them... Do you have any idea if the archived recordings will be available online?
I hope so!!!! I missed some parts of the mountain flying presentation, would love to re-watch.

Left Appleton today for the Air Force museum IFR all the way getting tired of all this IFR flying.Thought the show and the food was pretty good.
