4 days left to WINTER SOLSTICE! The stortest day of the year! The beginning of winter, but it marks the end of the days getting shorter and shorter. A pivital point in out solar system in that the Sun is at it's lowest point of the year. In 4 days daylight will turn around and days will get longer! More flying time!

That's a rather Earth centric point of view now isn't it? I mean, what do the residents of Jupiter care about Earth's solstice?

In other words we aren't slipping, we're simply taking a larger view of things. In more other words, we keep things in proper perspective.

Carry on with your pagan rituals if you must...and remember that any virgin sacrifices must be properly documented or we won't accept the claim of virginity.

You would think a guy that hates driving in the dark would know of the winter solstice, have a costume, and party like there is no tomorrow on the 21st of December! After December 21st, it's almost spring! :D

It's even more localized and confined than that! It is only for the northern hemisprere of earth!

I think Palin celibrates also. Oh PAGAN! My bad.

I save my partying for Christmas, the day after (our grandaughter's birthday!), December 31st (my wife's birthday) and January 1st (Hockey Winter Classic day).

Shortest day of the year, longest night of the year. And my cousin's wedding anniversary. Boy did she get some kidding about the date selection (a long time ago).
 
Durned namby, pamby, christians ruined a perfectly good orgy (a bit hard on the virgin sacrifice though) to break up the mid winter blahs, and not so incidentally start the sun to rising again, with their peace on earth and good will to men crap... bah humbug, I want my orgy back...
