Is that what a heron looks like?

Wow.

We have a Blue Heron sanctuary just down the road. I need to go look sometime.

Nice pic; I admit to envying people, like you, who have the ability to properly recognize, frame and catch a scene. All the camera toys in the world cannot overcome the absence of talent and artistic vision.

---

Now remind me- how do we decide what to call you? :dunno:

I've been "called" a lot of things. Lawreston is the legal first name which people back home know. When I was a radio broadcaster the "on-air" was Jerry Leyman. During my 27 years in business -- Jerry Crute -- the only people who were aware of Lawreston were those who might administer matters requiring legal signatures. Even my first wife didn't know "Lawreston" until we went for the marriage license, at which time I signed it she exclaimed, "Who's that?" The "Harley" was bestowed on me at about 18 months of age because I had become a regular on Dad's Milwaukee machine.

I took this photo this spring; a local (Seattle) TV station featured it on the air as their "daily weather photo"....

I think we're gonna need a crib sheet for your various names. You didn't even mention where the Reich comes from.

I "borrowed" it from my Dad's brother in-law Leonard Reich. And that's another story.

What "next section"? The bird was just about at the bottom of the page. :dunno:

Sorry! The newspaper "rolled" the image to another feature sooner than is customary re the online paper. If you -- and anyone else who desires -- e-mail me your e-mail address I'll send you the four images I submitted, from which one was used. Usually, that section "runs" an image for several days; this time they didn't. Two of the images are of Bath Iron Works, numerous ships visible; the other two are looking North and South of Sagadahoc Bridge which spans the Kennebec River.

While having fun I diverted to downtown Brunswick and got the following shot of part of Bowdoin College. The Senior Center -- Cole's Tower -- was once the tallest building in Maine. I was at 1200 msl, on top of Maine Street
(with permission of NAS Brunswick which is less than 1nm from my position).

I love to see them, Harley! Do you still have my email? Both Junelle and I have been missing the incredible fall scenery we got to enjoy up there last year!

Nice, Ron! Did you take that from your FlyBaby? Snoqualmie Falls is always impressive, but when the river is really flowing, it's REALLY impressive. I never saw it from the GA vantage point, however.

We've since moved to Texas, but we still have friends in Seattle send us what is arguably the best namesake pancake mix ever. I think it's what they serve at the Lodge in your photo.
