A small plane has crashed while on approach to Teterboro Airport in Bergen County, New Jersey.

The wreckage of a small plane is seen after crashing near Teterboro AirportThe twin-engine Beechcraft aircraft had two people on board - the pilot and co-pilot. Both were being hospitalized.

The plane crashed on the property of the Flomo company at 698 Route 46 West shortly after 3am on Friday.

and of course:

is comes less than two weeks after a small Piper aircraft collided with a sightseeing helicopter over the Hudson River, killing all nine aboard the two aircraft.

On August 12, a small plane crashed after taking off from Sussex County Airport.

In 2005, a corporate jet went off the runway at Teterboro, crashed through a fence and crossed a highway before smashing into a warehouse. Twenty people were injured.

My g-d, that last one was only 4 years ago. When are they going do something about this?

This time they left out Sully not landing at Teterboro less than 6 months ago.

Do something about what? Idiotic reporting?

Glad to hear they're OK. We have a bunch of Quest guys that fly in/out of LZU every day.

From the article said:
When emergency personnel arrived, they found the pilot and co-pilot alert and sitting at a bus stop.

See? Always have an alternate transportation plan when flying GA.

Very glad they're OK, and they didn't wind up on the highway.

Haskell's "report" is nothing but cheap panic-mongering... :rolleyes2: He even brings up the volume of overflights of KTEB into and out of KEWR as some sort of factor in what he wants people to think is a very high accident rate at KTEB. :dunno:

At least he made one mistake in favor of GA: that overrun a few years ago was not the worst accident at KTEB, that's for sure.

CLOSE THE AIRPORT... :rolleyes2:

From what I've heard so far it was a BE58 that ran off the end of runway 19 and through a building. Some, if not all, of the pilot/passengers have been taken to the hospital.

As with the mid-air, these kinds of incidents seem to bring out the best in people, as evidenced by their well-reasoned comments at the bottom of the articles:

Can we ban these deathtraps yet? There is no reason for any individual to endanger the public by flying in a personal jet. These people can fly the airlines like everyone else. Ground them all. I am sick of hearing about innocent people dying every day to private jet crashes. I'm going to write my Congressman and you all should too. We need to ground these things now before it's too late.

Can we ban these deathtraps yet? There is no reason for any individual to endanger the public by driving in a personal car . These people can drive in buses or ride in trains like everyone else. Ef them all. I am sick of hearing about innocent people dying every day due to car crashes. I'm going to write my Congressman and you all should too. We need to ban these things now before it's too late.

There, I fixed it for that blissninny.

Rte. 46 (across which this latest crashed plane came to rest) is north of the field... looks like they came down short of 19.

The spot is marked with the "A" on this map:

Sounds like you may be mixed up with another accident in 2005, where a plane ran of the end of 06 on an aborted takeoff, crossed Rte. 46, and crashed into a building...

I am so saddened by this. :( I know the pilot, George. He was just here a few weeks back, filling in for one of the pilots on vacation. He is a really nice guy and he has been flying for Quest for 15 years now. My prayers go out to the pilots and thier families! :(

Sorry to hear that Danielle.

Prayers out to the pilots and families, and support to all who knew them.

When I read the name of the company and the part about blood samples I thought you might know them. Very sorry about this Danielle. :frown3:

All who knew them, still know them, unless they were injured a lot worse than the article said:

Know is the correct word. Typo on my part.

And in the :( category, I learned last night that the pilot of the flight is a cousin of my brother's wife. :(

Sad news. George passed away this morning. :( Prayers and thoughts to his family and friends.
