Nothing but praise for my fuel level indicating system, Socata TB Tampico

I can’t help but marvel at how accurate my 30+ year old fuel level indication system is.
20 gallon tanks on each side.
I also love the built in tank level markings.

A couple of the many things Socata got right in the TB series of aircraft.

Is it too soon to say that you must often receive compliments on the accuracy of your instruments?

The stock sending units in my 1980 C172 have been flawless and always within less than a gallon compared to my fuel stick.
One of the tanks have been replaced and I put the stock sender back in the rebuilt tank. Both senders work well.

Your display indicates fuel in gallons? Our stock gauges are optimistic above 1/2 tank and pessimistic below 1/2 tank on either side.

Almost 80-years old and works flawlessly.

Until the varnish wears off of the cork and it gets saturated and sinks.

Or the wire gets rusty or otherwise contaminated and sticks.
