So I'm looking to see if any fellow norcal pilots are flying to Osh this year from norcal area. I'm in Sacramento and have one friend going with me from Petaluma. Open to another pilot joining us. What routes have you used to fly from NorCal to Osh that worked well to avoid weather and terrain issues?

I stopped by with the fleeting hopes that you were needing someone to ferry a C208B Caravan from NorCal to OSH; I'm bitterly dissapointed...

lol

Ps, in my experience, the best route to avoid terrain is generally up.

Sorry wish I had a Caravan Cessna to fly with you that would be fun to fly a turboprop there!
No worries I will flight plan best route with my fellow copilot.

Pretty much the I-80 corridor until you hit eastern Wyoming and then direct. A bit depends on which stops you make.

Yep. The only suggestion I might make is to cut the corner from I-80 at Wells NV over Lucin, over the Lake high enough to make shore if the fan stops, through the pass by Ogden to Morgan County, and then down to pick up I80 again east of Morgan County into Evanston WY, thence ...

Another corner cutter if you like is to depart I-80 at Rawlins WY, over Medicine Bow to Scottsbluff NB thence...

Thanks for the tips. I am flying with a pilot CFII buddy of mine who knows the route and we plan to add some IFR training to help me complete two goals at once my IR and long trip. It promises great fun plus I am volunteer there so it will be a fun time.
