Got to be more to the story. That's a Challenger II with a 503 Rotax. Such a light plane isn't easy to fly unless you have some experience and operating a plane with that engine package also takes a bit of know how. I'm guessing he knew the owner and possibly had even rode in the plane before. I believe your suspicion has merit ...

Nope on the outside.Problem is unless you removed the cover you couldn’t get in
