Looking for a Southern New Hampshire pilot group that might organize group flyin's for lunch etc.

I recently moved back to NH after 38 years in other parts of the US.

I'm up for that, check out Fitchburg Pilots Association too. While not Southern NH, it's close.

EAA Chapter 1454

I am based at KCON, and am interested!

Looking forward to joining - the countdown to moving to NH is getting closer!

If you are on Facebook or IG, there is a group called New England Aviation Association. They have fly in's periodically.

Not sure of any groups that are outside of social media.

Well then, let's start one. I don't do Facebook or any "social media" .

All for it, just curious as to how you'll get the message out?
What about right here? A few pilots here have expressed interest. I am watching this thread so when we get something going I will know about it. So if we can put something together here, that would be great! WX is getting warmer and I am looking forward to some hundred dollar hamburgers!

I'll be all in, assuming I am not working! I am sure I can get a few other non POA people to go too

Ok, well my cherokee is in the middle of a major avionics upgrade scheduled to be ready around the middle of March. KEEN, KEWB or KBID all have good eats. Many more on my list but those are easy.

The restaurant at EEN is/has shut down, sadly. Hopefully someone else opens something in their place.

BAF has a very good Japanese/Asian restaurant, which is a nice change of pace from the normal airport diner fare.

I would love to go to Basin Harbor for lunch this summer, not sure how they would feel about a fly-in to their place, but it might be worth while asking.

NO! EEN is gone? That is a huge bummer. Just checked and the last day is 3/14. I loved that place. Covid got a bunch and now this lease thing. Hopefully SFM will survive. Also BAF is a definite this summer!

Count me in !! I'm in SE Mass and dont have my PPL yet but hopefully the weather cooperates on 3/12 for my checkride. Then I'll need a reason to fly all the time.

HOw long is Alton Bay open for landings on the ice?

I believe it is closed for a while. Warmer temperatures last week had water on top of the ice. Plus the ice is thinning. A cold snap this week, but I don't think it will be enough to reopen the ice runway. Very short season this year as the ice was late to form.

Don't forget 7B3 and 1B2 for good food and nice views. KCQX Chatham has plenty of restaurants close by. KPVC Provincetown is a short bike ride or a cheap bus ride into town. KSFM Sanford has a decent breakfast, but 7B3 is better.

This past year has been tough on airport restaurant. Unfortunately Soks at BAF is permanently closed. The Flight Deck at EEN just closed this weekend for good. Town assuredly has other plans, hopefully we'll see. Don't forget 63B or AUG. Basin Harbor can hold quite a few planes and the Red Mill would enjoy the business.

SFM, EWB, ASH, ORE all seem to still be in business.

Sok's closed, but the Asian restaurant took it's place.

For those not on FB here is the post.

Listen up folks! Meet up time!
We’re moving forward to get our first meet up of the year together in May. The idea is for a bring your own food/bbq/picnic style meet up where we can hang outside/socially distance so everyone feels comfortable. We have a location in NH in mind but will confirm later.
What we’d like to do is get a feel for dates that work, normally I’d add a poll to the post but for some reason FB isn’t cooperating on any platforms today.
Potential dates:
MAY 2/8/16/22
Reply to the post if you can make any or all of those dates and we’ll go with the one that looks to have the best availability!

Not sure of my schedule but if we can make it, we will be there. Keep us posted.

@Groundpounder is correct. This was just posted

Alright folks here we go!
Kicking off the 2021 NEAA fam fly-ins!
Going back to where it all started at Parlin Field in Newport NH. Sunday, May 16th at 11am. Lunch/picnic type meet so we can be outdoors and socially distrance as desired.
Been a while since we’ve been together so mark your calendars and pray for good weather, the airport manager is enthusiastic to host us so im hoping for a good turn out!
There will be a grill on site for use, as we get closer, depending on attendance we can see if folks want to divvy up bringing stuff and we can slap someone on the grill for burgers and dogs. Rain date will be May 22.

Some additional fly-ins from NH Pilots Association

Flying season is back in NH and across New England

I wanted to bring you up to date on some of our plans for Unofficial Fly Ins the year!

The first event will be a water wings and wheels at KLCI Laconia on May 15th. This is a fund raiser for a very good cause to help young people find aviation in a relaxed setting and to get a free airplane ride to boot. If you would like to display your aircraft you should go to Winnaero.org for details.

The next event will be to Limington, Maine 63B on June 5th. We will be joining the local EAA chapter for their fly in breakfast. If you haven’t been to 63B you are missing a neat place to fly to. There is a restaurant on the field serving breakfast and lunch. I have been there a number of times and will be back again. Long paved runway and a bunch of friendly people hanging out in their hangars! We plan to arrive around 9AM and hope to see you there!

The next event will be to Parlin field in Newport, NH 2B3 to join their annual wings and wheels event 11AM to 3PM. Lots of planes, classic cars and food. Can’t get much better than that. 3500-foot paved runway in a classic New England setting! Hope to see you there around 11AM

The annual Spurwink fly in at Cape Elizabeth, ME will be July 11th this year. More info later!

Our friends a Mt View Airpark in Wolfeboro, NH will not have an annual June event this year but are hoping to reschedule for later this fall. We will keep you posted

We are also planning to continue the pop-up unofficial fly ins that were so popular last year. We will be watching the weather looking for the perfect weather day to launch the first one for 2021!!

The Laconia airport restaurant is coming out of winter hibernation and staffing up to open very soon.

The news is promising at Keene and we are waiting for the restaurant reopening hopefully later this month.

Fly safe, NHPA

LET’S DO IT!! FIRST UNOFFICIAL FLY IN OF 2021 ON FRIDAY!

The weather is going to be perfect on Friday May 14th so let’s meet at the Pilots Cove Restaurant at Sandford airport KSFM at @ 10AM for brunch! The restaurant opens at 10 and the patio is all set up for us so we can likely all sit outside! A big turnout for our first event would be great so crank up the bird and join us!!

Remember that Winnaero is planning an event at KLCI on Saturday the 15th if you would like to display your plane. Details at Winnaero.org

Fly safe!
David NHPA

Good to see a large turnout at 7B3 for the STOL comp. Hope to make the next one.
