Some of us fly aerobatics for fun, some for competition. I do loops, rolls, spins and hammerheads for fun .
Not all pilots like acro though....

OOHHH!! Well thank you!
I must admit, I thought...more HOPED it was something cooler..lol I'll make due though.
WOW! that is amazing!
I asked him what his favorite aviation movie was besides Flyboys and he said "Dark Blue World."
I still haven't watched it.
Does anyone have a POA hat he can wear?I'm surprised no one mentioned this but ya know Notoriace your gonna have to sneak in a mention or two in the movie of the Pilots of America Web Board. " The front porch of aviation"
Actually I enjoyed roughing in new construction. You know, before the building is occupied:wink2:.
Oh, I wouldn't say my electrical background led to my flying. They were both childhood passions which grew up together. I just had the opportunity to get into the electrical at an early age but the flying didn't become a reality until I was 33. It only developed into a hobby.
However, working at the airports was definately a tremendous advantage. When I finally started taking lessons, I was already familiar with airport signs and layouts, radio transmission, proceedures, etc. Also many years of PC Flight Simulators
That's really cool, that your electrical work led you to acting career.

OP are the pills you're on when you fly that jet from Columbia
It sure surprised the heck out of the Boeing CEO and everyone else who was attending the Seattle Sea Fair that day!

Ahhh product placement!
If this was John from Atlanta, we have to paint his buzzard kills under the left cockpit window.
Once you Google "Ted Stryker" you'll be linked to the most quoted aviation movie of all time, at least in pilot circles.
Surely you can't be serious!
Why, did you want me to make the easy answer?
you know, no one HAD to mention. I keep a list of people or companies that help me for my thank you section! I'm very appreciative of everyone and don't take anyone's time for granted. I can't always PAY for it...at least at my stage, but I like to give what I can!
Wow, very true -- I can only imagine it helped a bit!
Who knows..maybe my acting will lead to flying now
Surely you can't be serious!
It turns out Ted Stryker is a different (and real) person. The one he needs to Google is Ted Striker.

Find a Blu Ray copy of the film "One Six Right". This is one of the best documentary's documenting the joy of general aviation, and features Van Nuys Airport. The quality of the filming and editing is, to quote Ted Logan, "Most Excellent!"
If you can't find the Blu-Ray, hulu.com has it for viewing.

And by all means let us know when and where it will be released! We can have a POA watch party!
Also respectfully I think one question you need to ask is why are you a pilot or why do you like to fly. You will get a lot of answers I think most in the General Aviation world will tell you that it is a passion bordering on obsession to view the world where only birds once did can be described a magical, awe inspiring or to some religious experience and cool as hell. I think you might find the same attitude in freight dogs as you move up the aviation food chain toward airline pilots I think you will still find that attitude especially those that still fly GA but those that don't I think you will find have more hardened attitudes simply because of all the BS that is involved in Airline flying, Unions, Management, Government, Workplace issues and obnoxious passangers.
Perhaps understanding the passion we have may assist you in understanding your characters motivation or history. Just my 2 cents.
Amazon has it on DVD, but apparently not in blu ray format.

I just wanted to tell you, we're all counting on you. Good luck!
If a commercial pilot has his wallet/passport STOLEN in Colombia (or maybe any country outside of the US) during an overnight stop, what would happen? Procedures to follow? Would they be able to get through airport to fly back next day? Any thoughts here would be great!
I'm heading back into the Colombian Consulate now to pick up my work visa, but wanted to ask two questions and see your feedback!
I'll start with Adam Z's suggeste question:
Why do you fly?

I'll look around, sadly I don't have a BluRay player, so I'll see what's available! Thanks!
Why do you fly?
He would just sneak aboard a domestically bound flight, knowing that TSA wouldn't catch him
Probably not the next day. He would have to go through the U.S. consulate to get a replacement passport, and the FAA to get a replacement certificate and medical if he was to fly back as a pilot. I think a temporary certificate can be obtained online, but the medical could be a bigger issue.
It's a good idea to have scanned copies of important documents like passports available online (e.g. a Yahoo email to yourself) when travelling. You can't get in with a passport scan, but it will speed the process of getting a replacement with the consulate.
Would he not need his documents though to get through security?? Passport and such?
FYI, people joke around a lot here. Sometimes it's flagged with a "smiley" D for example), and sometimes not.
In the same vein, pilots quote or paraphrase lines from Airplane! quite a lot without identifying it as such, because they're used to everyone on a pilot forum being familiar with them (for example "I just wanted to tell you, we're all counting on you. Good luck!").
So assuming he had emailed a scanned copy. What would the process be at the consulate...roughly I guess, if you haven't had to deal with this yourself of course.
