Hello all!
I'm a new guy to the site, new to the notion of actually beginning my flight training; but not new to aviation. I've been a buff all my life after having grown up around aircraft.
My father is an aircraft mechanic, and in my much younger years, I got my first exposure to taking the controls at 11 years old because of a family friend that gave some instruction in return for my pops taking care of his airplane. Which was a nice Piper twin....
I'm finally at a point, nearly 25 years later that I have the resources, and can actually dedicate the time to starting and finishing the private ticket process. Had I started prior to now, I'd have not finished.
That being said, I am in the Atlanta area (Sandy Springs specifically), and was wondering if anyone has any insite on who the "go to" instructor would be in this area? I do not want the instructor that is going to unncessarily run up my hours, and is quite an effective teacher. I know my way around an airplane, but I would not assume to say that I'm going to blow through the training.
If anyone has any recommendations, I'd love to hear em!
