Hello all, Just stopping by to do the introduction.

Home base in Casa Grande, AZ.

I'm in process of buying a 78 Piper Warrior II in order to start my flight training. Just waiting on the Spar inspection  to get completed. And 2 other minor items.

I may be flying in a few weeks or may still be on the hunt.

Looking forward to learning.

Welcome!! Good luck with the purchase and training!

Welcome to PoA Greg!

Just a heads up that this joint has a rule that makes it mandatory to post pictures of your new airplane when you "take delivery" after the deal closes. :D

Good luck with your training. Exciting times for you!

‘Casa grande’ means ‘big house’.

Welcome, and stick around for more POA wisdom.

Welcome!

One of my favorite Mexican restaurants is called Case Grande. In Concord NC.

We love NC. Used to live there for a few years as a Teen. We go to visit every 3 or 4 years. New Bern was the last vacation. Lake Lure...etc.

Welcome ... and put on the thick skin as it gets rowdy in here every now and again! :D

Welcome...

And I couldn’t stop myself...

Welcome! Make sure to check for corrosion in your pre-buy inspection

Thanks for the link. I know the A&P and we did a once over on the plane yesterday and I was focused on corrosion as well. There is one small cap on the right wing that has a bit of a problem but it is only on the top surface and not below. The cowl was off because it just completed it's annual and I couldn't see anything in that area. I'm pretty happy with the plane to get me through training and a bit more. I'm sure I'll move on to something a little bigger in a few years down the road.

Welcome to the jungle. You are wise, I can tell from the position of the wing you chose in your plane

Welcome! With so many VFR days in Casa Grande, you'll get your ticket in no time.

Welcome to the forum, glad to have you here.

A Bonanza of course...the answer to all questions on PoA is Bonanza.

Look South, a little to your left...see me waving? I'm sure you'll be training someplace safer than Casa Grande. Good luck, keep in touch and someday we'll see you on an AZ fly in. Of which we need to plan another.

Why do you consider it unsafe? Huge runway, low elevation.

Because its so wonderful to be lined up of 23 and have stacks of airplanes all coming in to runway 5 on practice ILS approaches.

Could be worse. Try flying into YVR sometime, only half the pilots speak English, don't understand a damn thing the rest said.

that is all i hear from half of them.

Not much difference at Casa Grande. Half the pilots speak English, the ones in the right seat and they don't speak up until they have to.

I'm closer to the Casa Grande airport but I'll be training and the plane will be camped out at Eloy cause my instructor works there. So all I need to worry about is a few transient planes, drop planes and random skydivers. No biggie.

But it may end up at CG and I don't think the traffic there is that bad. Someone said they were talking about putting in some controllers sometime in the near future but I bet it doesn't happen.

That's how I imagine Love Field in Prescott to be, with all the Embry-Riddle students. It certainly looks like a beehive as I'm flying past there en route to Sedona.

Update: So I went in a different direction and bought this Cessna 182 yesterday instead of the Piper. This one and a 2nd 182 came up as an option at the last minute and I couldn't pass it up. And I may choose to swap with the owner of the other 182 in about a month or 2 if he can get a lien knocked off.

Congrats
Good looking plane!

At least in the PA-32s I'm used to, the rear seats come out easily. Haven't tried the middle seats.

Yes, by a good margin. The PA-32 is one of the most roomy and comfortable aircraft in its class. There's no rubbing of shoulders and elbows!

nice! Its hard to beat a 182 for all around flying. It’s good at almost everything! Everyone knows how to work on it... there’s a reason it’s still in production. Have fun and congrats!

Congratulations on the plane. I'm a low wing guy these days but I've flown high wingers and survived!
