I've never heard of the guy before but then I don't follow the pilot's unions that closely. As said in the comments, I would like to see controllers get a fair shake; particularly given pilots depend on them so heavily. But, is he the right guy? What say you?

I'm not as concerned the guy got the information wrong who is acting administrator.

Is Babbitt, Ex-Head of Pilots Union, Front Runner for FAA Chief?

Randy Babbitt, an aviation consultant and former head of the country’s largest union representing airline pilots, is being vetted by the White House as the next likely administrator of the Federal Aviation Administration, according to several people familiar with the discussions.

Mr. Babbitt’s emergence as the latest front runner follows weeks of talks among White House officials, labor leaders and lawmakers that had ended in a stalemate over earlier candidates.

Let me guess - he supports establishing Bravo airspace over the continental US....

What's his stance on GA?
Pretty close to ATA's, I should think -- I expect him to continue the Bush Administration's push for user fees for bizjets and eventually us. I would also expect him to support any airspace or ATC features (including equipment in your plane, like ADS-B-out) which makes airline traffic go faster and more directly, with little regard for GA's woes. Keep those cards and letters coming into your Congressional reps, and put another nickel in the AOPA PAC cup if you can.
