Yep. It's ironic to read his screed about how other companies kiss up to Cirrus because of their advertising money, THEN read his own filing about what he was willing to do for Cirrus in exchange for the airplane.

His content have always been determined by who will kiss up to him. When they stop, the glowing recommendations go to condemnation in a hurry.

And knowing how while Cirrus was supposedly advertising on ANN they were teh angles absolutely everywhere, including sponsoring the Oshkosh coverage.

I imagine that Alan Klapmeier finally made whatever deal to get him out of his hair.
 
yikes....what has ANN innovated??? They can't even operate a function website.
 
I have had a link to this thread saved in my bookmarks for a few years now. I noticed it again in my bookmarks today and, before deciding whether to delete it, gave it another look. While I have lurked for years, I do not believe I have ever commented. The recent link to his diatribe about the litigation compelled this comment, if only to literally laugh out loud at his description of how things went down and how he "won." I think I'll keep the bookmark for future entertainment (and other?) purposes. Keep up the good work.

First post! Welcome to POA!
 
After spending the better part of the last couple of weeks working my way through this thread (as well as most of the linked documents), I find myself wondering who is crazier--Zoom or Bernath?
 
It was fun going back and reading a lot of the RAH15 and Zoom stuff...

Well I came across this, and I'll just say with out specifics that either myself or someone I know was around this guy a whole lot. And boy are there some whoppers this dude has come up with. If you didn't know already he's friends with Harrison Ford and John Travolta. Plus the numerous and I mean numerous amount of aircraft he was a test pilot for. If you're interested in more let me know, hopefully someone still reacts to this old thread.

Well, dipping into the Florida legal records, ANN was sued again in 2015.

A company called Pauli Systems claimed to have provided "services including but not limited to website development and consulting services" and had not been paid. The suit also claimed breach of contract and "unjust enrichment". The suit was filed 11/4/2015. Copy is attached.

In March 2016, the judge awarded Pauli Systems a default judgement of $27,944.83.

Five months later (August 2016), ANN countersued, claiming Pauli had improperly tampered with the web site and business computers. That one is attached, too.

About a month after that (9/22/2016), the judge set aside the default judgement that had been awarded Pauli Systems earlier.

ANN dismissed its lawsuit, with prejudice, on 4/25/2017. About a week later, a notice of a confidential settlement agreement was filed, noting that the parties had come to a private agreement. No details were given of the settlement, other than both parties would be responsible for their own legal fees and court costs.

Pretty straightforward...but here's the kicker.

Back in September of 2016 (about the same time the default judgement was set aside), Pauli scheduled W.C Keith, the registered business agent for ANN, for a deposition. Keith responded with a protective order to avoid a deposition (attached), because he had not been the ANN business agent since 2009.

If you search the Florida official records....

...you'll find that the Aero News Net annual business reports did indeed show W. C Keith as the registered agent through 2015...six years after he said he'd left the position. I've attached the 2015 corporate report; you can use the above web page to verify that Keith was listed as business agent over the intervening years as well.

Go to the bottom of the form, where it is signed, and note the legal notice just above it.

No doubt this was a miscommunication, or an error made by a low-level employee.....

Why do I suspect if someone dies there will be an annual fly in organized to pee on the grave?
 
If I did website development for ANN, I would make sure that nobody knows it. That site is simply awful.

Not sure when Pauli stopped. Their suit said the last invoice sent to ANN was in October 2012, so some other outfit must have taken over since then. If Campbell isn't just doing it himself....

Noticed something interesting, flipping through ANN's annual Florida reports...the business has been moving around. Listed St. Augustine as the principal place of business up to 2016, then Jacksonville in 2017, and Orange Park in 2019.

"A legitimate writer would be somebody like Mac McClellan from Flying Magazine. The buffoon from aero-news.net who has been Vern's lap-dog media outlet would not qualify. Others have posted pages of material on the checkered past of James "Captain Zoom" Campbell. While Campbell claims it is all lies, you will have to find this material on your own just as I had to by googling - james captain zoom campbell.

And yes Campbell and I have clashed over Eclipse issues. We had a two hour running gun battle via e-mails on the morning of July 4, 2006. He accused me of stalking and harassment. Threatened to call the police, he was in Florida, I am in Wichita. I threatened to put copies of his e-mail up on a blog, he threatened to sue for copyright violations. The fireworks started early that day!
