I need a 6-seat single to rent(or borrow and accidentally drop some cash in the plane on my way out) in the Austin area in a few weeks. Piper would be preferable but a Cessna would work too, can be complex. Anyone know of one?

How much weight are you needing to carry?

It's more a problem of bodies than weight. There are 5 of us: my dad, me, and 3 younger siblings. I could make it a one-stop trip in the Cherokee 180 weight wise but I don't think I can get all three of the young'uns in the back.

I don't know the Austin area, but I know we've got a 210 down here in Boerne. Don't know of any other 6 seater in SA unless you have friends.

What are y'alls rates and time requirements?
Of course high performance and complex endorsements... 25 hrs in type OR $75K of non-owned renters insurance, plus a checkout. Checkout if you have lots of complex or similar aircraft time is pretty easy, if you don't, expect us to be more cautious. We've had several people be rather, um, unkind to the plane, so it's a matter of the prospective renter showing good judgment.
It's renting for $155/hr wet. Has a Garmin 530 and S-tec autopilot.

Wow, that's a good price! Normally aspirated or turbo?

That's about the price of a 182 in Austin. I like that rate. One of the other flight schools has an A-36 Bo for $240/hr, if you meet all the times for insurance.

Here in OKC a Cherokee 140 is $125, and it's the cheapest around. A regular ole 172 will run you $135-145. I was floored with the cost of renting up here.

That is a GREAT price. I own a 210, and don't think I can fly it for that amount!

I wish more of our renters knew just how good of a deal it was they were getting. For anyone thinking about coming down and flying it, the going instructor rate here is $40/hr, so that brings it to $195/hr for the checkout.
