I saw this on my front porch today. It looked kind of cool, but I have no idea what it is. Anyone have a clue?

The pic was bigger than I intended, but the bug (moth?) was about an inch long and a wingspan about 2 inches.

Cool! This morning as I approached the office I started to smell skunk. As I approached the entrance to the building I SAW skunk. He was busy foraging on the lawn about 15 yds away. Not as unusual as your critter but still fun to see the little guy doing his thing.

I smelled skunk walking out of Work the other night. I’m pretty sure it was someone sparkin’ up some weed.
 
I was thinking it might be the deadly poisonous orange butted gypsy moth....

almost got bitten by one once in the jungle when I was fighting commie basturds, blew it away w/ my flame thrower
 
It looks like a polka dot wasp moth (Syntomeida epilais). I know that they are found in Florida.
