Watching the bobsled runs now. Wondering: If the brakeman stumbles, trips, or mistimes things and fails to get on board the sled, does the driver have any brake control up front, or is he in trouble at the end of the run?

Wouldn't the person in front of the missing brakeman slide back and grab the brake?

I recall seeing some of the training video's during previous olympics where the last guy in didn't make it onboard.

There's only one brake and it's in back. Presumably one of the missing crew members could scootch back and grab the brake. Failing that, the bobsled track goes a pretty fair distance uphill after the finish line so they can safely stop even if the brake doesn't work - for whatever reason. The surface in the overrun area isn't smooth ice, either. I imagine this problem has come up before.

There is a fellow Nebraskan / Ex Husker football player completing with the 4 man. Hopefully, he'll be bring home some precious metal.

I've waited 4 years to be able to use this smiley.
