On this chilly day would you rather be
(a) on the rail?
(b) taking a sail?
(c) slipping the tug?
(d) or at home nice and snug?

Steady as she goes but off the port bow,
To dip your toes off this nice "cutter"
Would make your heart about thrice flutter.

Kennebec River, Bath, ME; and one of its sister ships today got stuck in the mud about 10 miles up river in Richmond.

That's embarrassing for the Captain.
It always amazed me, with the crazy shifting bottom and relative narrowness of the river, how they got those enormous warships out from the Bath Iron Works to the ocean.

Definitely on the high tide. Relative to the last line in my first post, check http://timesrecord.com/ but the photo will only be good until Wednesday's paper comes out at about 1:30 or 2:00. The photo I posted was mid channel, just off Bath Iron Works.

(Here's a closer shot of my posted ship)
