Yes. Pretty much an essential ingredient to chili. IBTL.
Sheesh. I just popped back in, just 2 posts on page 2 and it’s freakin lockworthy already?? It’s just food for gawds sake!!!Yes. Pretty much an essential ingredient to chili. IBTL.
Ok, so what kind of hot sauce? Cholula? Louisiana? Tobasco? Dave's Ghost Pepper? Some rare/special blend?
I use a little of the first two in the chili to begin with, along with some serrano's and pasilla/guajillo/ancho blend. To boost my own I'll maybe use more Cholula.
Tobasco. What else.I hope not. I'm looking for info on what people are using for the hot sauce. Not a sour cream fan, but the cheese on top sounds good.
I'm not sure what you call it without beans. Not chili. Maybe beef stew? Hamburger soup?
I definitely take umbrage at that! The only thing of consequence I ever did in Texas was leave behind some solid waste.Redundant.

But, Fritos don't have the ideal form factor to scoop chili with even though they do fare well with cheesy dipping sauces guacamole. (notice I deliberately left out bean dip.)
Now for the twist....
I have been known to add yellow mustard on top of the chili, which is on top of the Fritos....
You're a savage!
Are you talking about the regular form factor, or the scoops form factor?

Yes. A civilized gentleman would use Grey Poupon.

Don't knock it until you try it.
Anthony had some interesting thoughts about Frito Pie
Could be, given the fondness of Texans for sewage.I'd say Texas fared better than Ohio on that deal.
At home, chili, no beans, no sour cream EVER, onions, saltines or oyster crackers and shredded cheddar.
Same as that eating out but beans are acceptable.
Now having grown up in Cincinnati, a couple of cheese coneys and a four way is also totally good..
But Fritos???? Next you’ll be asking about potato chips.
Cheers

I love chili, no matter what or how. I like it without beans, or with beans, even though Texans consider that bean stew. I put crackers, cheese, onions and/or hot sauce on it, depending on what's available. At home, chili, no beans, no sour cream EVER, onions, saltines or oyster crackers and shredded cheddar.

There's always 5-way Cincinnati chili
