V-tail, no details on survivors yet that I can find. Weather in HOU was Cavu today.
 
There is a Facebook group that stated no injuries two passengers. Not sure if the or not.

Always good when there are no injuries,in an off field landing.
 
Apparently the plane hit the top of the 18 wheeler when landing. Pilot audio in this clip.
 
Looks like there was grass adjacent the road from the video but don’t know how long it is. Landing on the highway has some risk but glad the pilot made it down safely.

So this lady is broadcasting from a frontage road… beside the crash site…. Guess it didn’t stand out during the mere moments he had to choose where to land. Total “after the accident” quarterbacking I know. glad the guy is OK and the outcome was favorable.
 
There is a small power line between the Interstate and the frontage road. The side feeds off that line will all go across the frontage, and be small enough that you will not see them until too late. Remember the lawn dart 172 picture recently?

Additionally, I am not sure that there is enough width for his wing span on the frontage, and perhaps there was traffic at the time he was deciding.

I would have chosen the Interstate.

Too bad that he hit the truck, and ruined an otherwise good landing.

ahhhh. Makes sense.

Alive with relatively low property damage and no one harmed on the ground. Still a good landing in that light.

The top of most box trailers is just a thin piece of fiberglass, or maybe aluminum. Surprised the aircraft didn't end up inside the trailer.

I wonder if the pilot saw or considered the R/C field? Not saying it was any more appropriate, tiny runway, lots of spectators nearby.
