That's my problem with this whole issue. I don't care how someone self-identifies, by what name they call themself, how they dress, or where they pee. None of it affects me in any way, so it's none of my business. But when they ask me to buy into, affirm, and validate their delusions, then they're forcing it to be my business.
Just leave me out of it, and we'll be fine.

Well, until they enact legislation that forces your business to make special accommodations for them. The ADA has some positive impacts, but it also puts a pretty tall burden on businesses who may never have a single interaction with disabled persons. Similar things can occur when the "self identity" politics find their way to legislation. Kind of like having to provide a 3rd restroom choice for those who elect to be "non-binary". That said, I don't know why any of it needs to be announced to the public. I don't care how someone identifies one way or the other.

I have no flipping idea.. and it's insane that with our growing deficit, growing income disparity, a college loan debt bubble over $1 TRILLION, this is what people choose to care about. Do you think those fighting in the trenches in WW2 had this kind of emotional freedom?
It's also odd that people want to be treated equally, but then scream about how different they are and how they want different treatment. Separate but equal. It's stupidity at its finest. **Right? Why does what physical body parts you were born with matter in most cases?! My doctor, sure they should know, but why is this just part of the standard list of questions that is asked on virtually every form?
There has to be a line somewhere.. at what point do people get to choose their race, or other factors? Can you be French by blood, US by birth, but decide to identify as a Brazilian? That didn't stop Rachel Dolezal from identifying as an African American for her own gain
It doesn't directly affect you or I on a micro scale. Where Susan or Mike decide to pee in the Applebees while you're at home has no impact on you. BUT, on a macro scale, these things do impact you.. we flood our government spending on projects like these while we have a growing homeless population, poverty rates in some counties in the double digits, homicide rates (in the blue-est cities mind you) that are worse than what you'll find in many third world countries... but THIS, this is what people choose to care about

Why is it that any discussion that does not include total and unreserved support of any and all facets of human behavior inevitably gets this sort of response?
Why is it so difficult for people to understand that accepting that they have a right to dress, act, believe, identify, or whatever the way they choose, and trying to force everyone else on the planet to believe the same thing, are two different things?
Some of you don't hold the same social, economic, and political views that I do. I don't feel victimized, nor do I feel the need to apologize to the world for you, or for me. Live your own life, and let others live theirs.

I'm not sure why someone doesn't just open an "XX only bakery" and leave the others alone. If someone doesn't want to sell you a cake that's their business's loss, they'll lose income on that cake, and those people will tell their friends not to go to your bakery, so you'll lose more income.. that's how capitalism works. Maybe someone will have a bakery that will sell to whomever, or someone who will make a bakery catering to you only. There already are business that only cater to one gender or group of people.. should I be upset that Victoria's Secret doesn't have a men's section? Should Skiiers be upset that Sporty's doesn't have a ski section? That's clearly some kind of deep seated prejudice against skiiers..
It's honestly bonkers.. and this is where (expensive) government resources go, deciding whether or not a private business has to bake a cake for someone they don't want to

that's just how social justice warriors "debate" (you can't really call it that when they don't engage). Unless you give them unequivocal support and agreement you're silenced and labeled something atrocious. They're also big fans of the straw man.. even a well formed, objective, logical argument will be met with "you're a bigoted fascist pig" - because you know, name calling is a sound way to prove you're right in any debate
