Mystery nut)

I found this nut on the floor of my 182-S today. Came stock with a Silver Crown Nav III avionics package. I just had a significant avionics upgrade, removing a KAP 140, ADF, HSI, CDI, VSI and installed GFC 500, GI 275 x 2. The entire radio rack was removed along with center pedestal and panels. The interior was gutted as well for the wire runs/ servo install. Both mechanics cannot identify the nut and I can’t reach the avionics tech until Monday. The nut looks like it is designed for finger tightening (knurled) and has been drilled for safety wire.

I just want to make sure that the front doesn’t fall off!

That knurled nut holds an encoder in to it's tray. Usually it's finger tight.

No, those are the nuts that go between the yoke and seat. This appears to be something smaller.

Thank you. My avionics tech texted me a few minutes ago and noted the same. I can now confidently fly without fear of the front falling off.
