I trialed Oticon OpnS about a year and a half ago, but ended up buying Phonak Marvel M90-13T
They are great
The Oticons were very good but all about switching programs depending on which environment...One for background noise, one for this, one for that....
A coworker has some Resound units but I'm not sure the model of his. he's always talking about adjusting the volume up or down or switching programs. I do none of that. Turn them on in the morning and off at night. They automatically switch programs and I can't even tell they do it! The ONLY time I ever need to touch mine are when I go to church and want to use my T-Coil receiver....otherwise they work just seamlessly.
My other suggestion....I've been very happy with my choices to go
* standard battery instead of rechargeable
* size 13 battery instead of the smaller 312 the audiologist was going to put me in.
I didn't want to be slaved to having a charger at work, one at home, one for travel....etc.. or waiting to recharge when I really need to do something else....
If a battery dies prematurely I can pop in anywhere and buy new ones if I don't have any handy....
and the size 13 batteries hold quite a lot more power and the aids are only negligibly larger...I can go a full solid week on a set of batteries...really more like 8 days typically.
I might have mentioned this in my other thread, but...
Soon after getting mine, I was in a thrift shop and Fleetwood Mac was playing - either Dreams or Rhiannon or some such. I was wondering how much the hearing aids were really helping, so I switched them off momentarily to see. As soon as I did, the background snare drum simply went away. I mean completely. Gone. Turned them back on and it was there again. Music sounded fine either way, but no doubt without hearing aids I was missing a lot of the “texture” of the music. Really quite remarkable.
When i first started wearing mine, I used to do that all the time.....turn them off and on in different environments. I was standing in line at a Subway sandwich shop I'd been to many times before & I heard music turned on really extremely low volume. I distinctly remember no music ever playing there before and my thinking earlier "the place was oddly quiet...they should play some music!". Turns out they had been all along. I turned the aids off and the music was gone...not just the snare!
Does that have bluetooth?
yeah, it probably does if he smiles
