I used to live near there, but moved away. :wink2:

(Lived in Aptos.)

Is it possible that you could stick carriage returns between those pictures? :wink2:

Not aviation related, but this one always struck me as being somehow... useless..

During the summer months, photo #1(the yellow sign) for which the exact location may vary.

The winter months? Photo #2 which is a couple miles before arriving at Saddleback Ski Resort(Rangeley, Maine).

Or, if you want to go the other way:

In the summer of '78 I was on a college ecology class and we were camping in the White Mountain National Forest. We were going to visit some alpine ecosystems. Didn't make it that day, it started snowing to beat the band. We drove down a bit and enjoyed a warm picnic instead. Tall mountains have weird weather.

Not really a road sign but...

#1-3 are my all time favorite road signs. They're at the entrance gate to a friends land in the middle of nowhere.

#4 is on the center of the upper panel over the flight deck of my motorhome. It's not so much a sign as an established behavior pattern.

I don't have a picture of it handy, but my Dad took a picture of a sign in southern Idaho years ago that said,

"All Californians must be dipped before entering Idaho".

I know the story and what it means. Do you?

This one is old but still makes me chuckle.

My guess is a "flea dip" http://flea-dip.com/

Ooh...reminds me of a business in Lake Havasu from when I lived there:

The sign was put up as a gag by a chain of gas stations called "Stinker". The picture in question was taken in the late 1950s. I may find it in Mom's files yet. And cattle used to be (still are?) run through a trough of "flea dip" to remove paracites. This was a dig (even back then) at Californians coming to Idaho. And the sign was a very official looking yellow with black lettering. Idaho DOT could easily have put it up themselves. :D

LOL! Well I think yours takes the prize, Peggy!
