Multiple Monitors - Anchoring programs

So I have a PC set up for 2x monitors- how do I fix it where certain programs are "anchored" to one screen, and others, to the other screen? I want one screen to be protected real estate for a couple of apps, and the other, for others.

I opened notepad then placed it on the secondary monitor. Now each time I open notepad it opens on the secondary. Not sure if that fits your requirement or if it will work with all applications.

Like Mad said, if you close a program in one screen, it should open back up in that same screen. At least that's how it works with my set up. I have two monitors plugged into the dual HDMI ports in a GeForce 9800, Windows 7.

Try a program called "Ultramon" -- I believe there may be a free trial available.

No, not if you have two physical monitors. Windows should be able to handle it and the programs should load up in the monitor from where you shut them down.
