MSNBC not on FIOS

Recently we switched from cable to FIOS. On cable, I watched Morning Joe on MSNBC. When we switched, I could not find it any more. During the Olympics, Channel 103 was listed as MSNBC and was showing the games. After the Olympics ended, channel 103 has no content and I have never found Morning Joe on FIOS.

What gives?

Ah so it is a New York thing.

MSNBC soesn't weant you fiber types, so watch something else.

It IS up to NBCU to decide if they want viewers or not.

(I'll bet the deal goes back to wanting Cablevision to carry CNBC World or something and NBCU had to offer something.)

No big loss, not much worth watching on MSNBC.

These kinds of arrangements used to be very common - they've pretty much gone away as the content providers have learned about how much money they've lost by not being available. It's MSNBC's call - and stupidity for signing the exclusivity. FWIW, MSNBC is available on satellite.

MSNBC is back on FIOS. Wonder whether it is just for the Olympics.
