The original "I don't know it all" of aviation.
I am considering getting a mouse for iPad. I have a few things I want to do on my tablet that need a finer resolution than my finger.

Any brand/model recommendations?

Didn't think such a thing existed.

I wish it could be hooked up to a mouse and a keyboard.
Also adding some sort of CD rom reader and ability to connect to a monitor.

And if it could run windows.

Anyone have any recommendations for a good external tape drive for my iPad? Or at least a 5 1/4" floppy drive?

How do you expect to use a mouse in an airplane, anyway?

Where did I say "will be used in flight?" This was for a project or two sitting at my desk or kitchen table.

I figured this was aviation related since its not in hangar talk.
Oh, an AvShilo wanna be. Thanks, but we don't need that Red Board attitude over here.

Technical corner is often used to discuss all manner of tech, and not just aviation tech.

My ipad has a keyboard and a connection to a monitor.
I have thought about throwing out a window.

What attitude? Sorry, I made the assumption that since this is a aviation forum, and most of the iPad threads relate to using an iPad in flight, that you were planning on using a mouse in flight. Who's AvShilo?

Soooooooooo, you are thinking of a Surface maybe???

Mini tower would be cool.
Except tall enough to put some hard drives in and a nice video card.
And a DVD burner.

Send me your credit card info and we'll get that right out to you.

Right there with ya.
I had a mac mini for 2 weeks.

That was all I could stand.

No accounting for taste, but...

...what exactly was so unpleasant about it? Was it the hardware or software or both that were the issue.

I just got one and started setting it up and migrating stuff from my 2008 MacBook Pro yesterday. So far, so good - El Capitan may have some new features, but out of the box emulates Lion fairly well. And with the 2tb Fusion drive everything seems very snappy.

Just curious.

Got it!

My first Mac was in 1985, so I'm pretty used to the interface.

But I understand that "off balance" feeling when you change OS's - I get that feeling wrestling with Windows - which I try to avoid doing as best I can.

No. I dont think Macs crash that much :rofl::rofl::rofl:

Legendary.

Not a mouse but:

Don't have to use it. Just ignore it. I ignore the touch screen on my Win 10 laptop.

I hate that the Dell my workplace got me has no way at all of disabling the stupid touch screen. People point at stuff on my laptop to show me what's wrong that I need to fix and they click on crap. Hate touchscreens on laptops with a passion.

I had not thought of that kind of thing happening. That has to be a pain!
